EcoBanner 13mil
Up to this point, we've not seen a biodegradable/recyclable banner material that was durable, inexpensive, and printed well. Ultraflex's BIOflex or Dupont's Tyvek were about the best things going. But they are both relatively expensive, the BIOflex is not really as 'green' as they make it out to be, and Tyvek doesn't biodegrade. After testing EcoMedia's EcoBanner it really seems too good to be true, but it looks like we've found a banner material that prints well with our UV cure ink, holds grommets as well or better than 13oz scrim banner, and is truly environmentally responsible.
EcoMedia’s polyethylene based films are extruded in a low-density co-polymer form that is both recyclable and biodegradable. In plain English that means when they are exposed to landfill conditions they will degrade like all other organic matter in the same conditions. Conventional PVC banner material is expected to last for 50+ years.
Biodegradability is achieved through the use of a special additive. The banner film is comprised of multi layer polyethylene in different densities to allow for high tear resistance while providing an excellent printing surface. EcoMedia is a 100% polyethylene film that is 100% recyclable and should be recycled with other low density polyethylene (LDPE) products. The correct recycling code on the recycling code is number 4 on the recycling chart.
Eco-Friendly Packaging
Because it is not just about the product its self, but everything that goes into the manufacturing and delivery, EcoMedia uses 100% Eco-Friendly packaging. By utilizing local resources for packaging materials, there is a further reduction to the eco-footprint. |
